The Institute for Optical Sciences offers a wide range of academic, professional, and entrepreneurial education programs to graduate students and post-doctoral fellows from our member departments.
Collaborative Programs at the University of Toronto provide graduate students with a multidisciplinary education by combining resources available in several departments. Since students in each of our member departments are interested in the study of optics, the IOS administers a special cross-disciplinary academic program designed to expose students to these different disciplines.
Funded through the MITACS Elevate program and administered by the IOS, these one-year fellowships will provide funding for recent graduates to work with a professor at the University of Toronto with the goal of commer- cializing a new technology developed by the faculty member.
This seminar exposes students to a collection of activities designed to make students more efficient in their research. It is required for students registered in the Collaborative Master’s Program in Optics.
Our summer Technopreneurship seminar series is deigned to engage and educate students and post-docs at the University of Toronto to create their own companies.
